Duff/Dumplings
Soft, hearty, and wonderfully comforting, Duff is a traditional Guyanese boiled dumpling that has been enjoyed for generations. Made from a simple dough of flour, baking powder, butter, and water, duff is shaped into large dumplings and gently boiled until light and tender. It is most famously served with Metemgee, where it soaks up the rich, creamy coconut broth, but it also pairs beautifully with soups, stews, and other hearty Guyanese dishes. Though humble in its ingredients, duff is a staple of the Guyanese table and a reminder that some of the most beloved foods are also the simplest.
